Christopher Keller, Member Benefits
What do you do as Chair of Member Benefits
of the Milwaukee Chapter?
As the Member Benefits chair, it is my responsibility to plan and
coordinate member events. These range from breakfast meetings at
member organizations to networking mixers. Let's call me the guy in
charge of the "extras" you get when you're a member!
How long have you been a member of BMA?
This is actually my first year as a member of BMA. I have in the
past attended a few events while in college and really enjoyed
them. It was at that point where I knew when I graduated that I
wanted to get more involved!
Tell us about your background in
marketing.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing from
the Milwaukee School of Engineering in spring of 2011. Soon after,
I begin my first professional marketing position with Actuant
Corporation where I serve as a marketing specialist for a New
Product Development team within their industrial segment. I have
previous marketing experience in an agency setting through my
pre-graduation internships and in the corporate setting in my
current role. I am currently still employed at Actuant, and am
pursuing my Masters degree in Business Administration.
What is the most valuable part of your BMA
membership?
I think the most valuable part of my BMA membership is the
connections you make with professionals in your industry. The
networking opportunities are tremendous. With that said, the
seminars are also a great place to learn more about what's new in
the marketing world and learn some best practices from other
professionals.
What do you do when you're not busy being the Member
Benefits Chair?
I love to play hockey. I was a 4-year varsity hockey player at
MSOE and still play on a regular basis as well as other sports. I'm
also a diehard Buffalo, NY sports fan because that's where I grew
up. There's nothing like a relaxing weekend watching the Bills and
the Sabres! I also like to cook, and am a sucker for a good craft
beer.
