Marvin Mason, Treasurer
What do you do as Treasurer of the
Milwaukee Chapter?
I am the Treasurer of BMA-Milwaukee, so I am responsible for
establishing a realistic operating budget and overseeing
expenditures to ensure budget and chapter funds are properly
managed.
How long have you been a member of BMA?
I have been involved with BMA for 5 years.
Tell us about your background in
marketing.
I started out in marketing at Simon & Schuster publishing as a
marketing coordinator. I loved the creative aspects of the
marketing department and the metrics. I have served in a senior
executive marketing role since 2003 and am currently the chief
marketing officer at CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute).
What is the most valuable part of your BMA
membership?
I love the networking. You never know when you might have a need
for some unique, specialty, and I love learning what other people
do so that I can reference them as needed. Despite my role being on
the client side, I don't feel like I'm being constantly sold to by
fellow members. There seems to be a lot of respect for what BMA is
about and I appreciate that.
What do you do when you're not busy being Membership
Chair?
In my spare time, I enjoy riding my Harley with my wife during the
summer months. During the winter I enjoy hanging out with family
near a fireplace, or going out to dinner with friends. I also
volunteer as a police officer in Whitefish Bay and play the
drums.
