Lightning Round: Speed Interviewing & Resume Review

 Speed Interview

Our flagship university outreach event, the Lightning Round: Speed Interviewing & Resume Review, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at ManpowerGroup in downtown Milwaukee.

This is a can't miss event for any student who will soon enter the "professional world," by applying for their first job or internship. Student participants will have numerous opportunities to practice their interview skills, showcase their resume to area marketing professionals, and learn powerful tips to sell themselves through social media - all in one night!

Three different sessions. One must-attend event.

  1. Speed Interviewing- Sell yourself in 6 minutes or less! Similar to speed dating, our speed-interviewing session gives you the chance to practice in a no-pressure learning environment. You'll rotate to a new professional every six minutes and gain valuable feedback on how to present yourself in a face-to-face interview.
  2. Resume Review- Your resume is your first impression to a potential employer - and often your ticket to getting an interview. In this session, marketing professionals will review your resume and give you proven tips for selling yourself on paper. (Make sure to bring plenty of copies of your resume.)
  3. Sell Yourself with Social Media- So you're on Facebook and Twitter … now what? In this social media presentation you will learn how to turn your social media profiles into powerhouse tools that you can leverage during your job search.

Tips for the evening:

  • Dress is business casual or business professional: no jeans, sneakers, or flip flops
  • Bring multiple copies of your resume for review and distribution
  • If you have personal business cards, bring copies to share with the pros
  • Remember that this is a learning experience, so have fun!

Food and beverages will be provided.

For questions about the event, please contact Laura Lawrence, BMA Milwaukee's university outreach director.

We thank the Eisner Creative Foundation for its generous sponsorship of this event!
