Student Outreach is Our Commitment

BMA Milwaukee is proud of our commitment to providing quality educational and experiential events for college students studying in the marketing communications field.

The University Outreach Committee (UOC) is dedicated to ensuring that our programs put students directly in touch with professionals that can help guide their future careers.

Student Benefits from BMA Milwaukee 

Generally, BMA Milwaukee defines a "college student" as someone:

• Currently enrolled in classes at a college, university, technical college or a post-high school institution of higher learning
• Officially registered for 9 or more academic credits
• Is engaged in the process of receiving a post-high school degree (associate, bachelors)
• Not employed full-time

College students who meet the above criteria may:

• Attend regular BMA Monthly Meetings at a discounted rate.

• Apply for the BMA-Milwaukee Student Scholarship, worth $1500 annually. Deadline for 2012 Scholarship Applications is March 20, 2012.
• Enjoy the student-centered events designed to give you a "boost" toward that first career. Check the calendar, your email, and the BMA-Milwaukee social media for details and registrations!

NOTE: Registration required for both regular BMA and student events! Go to BMA Milwaukee Events for meeting schedule, information, and registration links for the chapter or Student Events for registration!

Regular BMA Milwaukee monthly meetings' discount does not include the Bell Awards, the annual Holiday Party, BMA Golf Outing or other special events as determined by the BMA Milwaukee Board of Directors.

We encourage and welcome past students to become full professional members of BMA-Milwaukee.

Goals for the University Outreach Committee

The University Outreach Committee's (UOC) main purpose is to assist students in making a successful transition to the professional world.

Our goals include:

• To provide engaging and relevant educational events to college/university students studying marketing, communications and design
• To act as the primary outreach venture of BMA Milwaukee
• To annually fund and award a $1500 academic scholarship to a qualified undergraduate student majoring in a marketing-related field.
• To be recognized by faculty and students in Southeastern Wisconsin as the authoritative provider of career development and professional networking opportunities.
