Congratulations to our 2011 Student Scholarship Winner!

BMA Milwaukee congratulates Laura Malandra of Marquette University on winning the 2011 Student Scholarship.

Our  BMA Scholarship winner for 2011 is already putting her education to work - in South Africa.

Laura Malandra, a Corporate Communications major from Marquette, was awarded the seventh annual BMA Scholarship at the Bell Awards, but she wasn't able to receive her honor in person. That's because Laura is currently volunteering with an organization called The Extra Mural Education Project in South Africa.  Among her duties?  Teaching marketing at a secondary school twice a week.

Laura boasts a 3.7 GPA including a 4.0 in her major.   In addition to her teaching job, she is also the South African Correspondent for a travel blog called "The Lost Girls."

We congratulate Laura for her achievements and are excited to welcome her into the BMA!

The two other finalists for the scholarship are Jessica Loizzo and Elizabeth Bartlein, both from UW-Whitewater.

About the BMA Milwaukee Academic Scholarship

BMA Milwaukee offers an annual $1,500 Academic Scholarship for a student showing exceptional achievement and potential in business marketing communications. Undergraduate Wisconsin college students entering their sophomore, junior, senior years and majoring in marketing, advertising, communications, or an equivalent program with an emphasis on marketing/communications are eligible. Eligible students must have a B (3.0) or higher grade point average - overall or in major. Applicants must meet the BMA's definition of a "student" as specified in the scholarship documents listed below.

Deadline for the 2012 BMA Milwaukee Scholarship is Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
