Congratulations to our 2009 Student Scholarship Winner!

BMA-Milwaukee congratulates Emily Flock of Marquette University on winning the 2009 Student Scholarship.

Emily is a junior at Marquette University from Norwalk in western Wisconsin. A public relations major and marketing minor, she has a 3.95 grade point average and serves a resident assistant in Cobeen Hall.

Beginning in the fall of 2009, Emily will become facilities manager of Mashuda Hall. Emily is also a certified line therapist for the Wisconsin Early Autism Project and recently spent her spring break building houses for Habitat for Humanity in Enid, Oklahoma.

As this year's scholarship winner, Emily will receive $1500 as well as free attendance to all regular BMA meetings for the 2009-2010 season.

We'd also like to congratulate our runners up: Jena Knutson from UW-Stout and Maureen Murray from Marquette.

The BMA-Milwaukee is proud to again offer a $1,500 Academic Scholarship for a student showing exceptional achievement and potential in business marketing communications. Undergraduate Wisconsin college students entering their sophomore, junior, senior years and majoring in marketing, advertising, communications, or an equivalent program with an emphasis on marketing/communications are eligible. Eligible students must have a B (3.0) or higher grade point average - overall or in major. Applicants must meet the BMA's definition of a "student" as listed here.
